Posted by Admin on November 16, 2012 under Cloud CRM, Customer Software |

Contact management software programs have been widely used by small to mid-size businesses to manage customer relationships, but with the difficult economy and push for new business many of these companies are migrating from desktop software programs to online customer management solutions that extend contact management functionality to the sales and marketing departments.

One of the most popular online customer management software programs is Commence CRM. Commence has been providing contact management and sales force automation solutions to small and mid-size businesses for more than two decades and was one of the first CRM software companies to migrate their award winning software to the cloud.

What small businesses find attractive about this online CRM solution is its ease of use and low cost of ownership. With Commence CRM there is no hardware or software investment required and customers can be operational the same day. Because Commence?s roots come from delivering and supporting contact management software, customers find the transition to the cloud based solution quick and easy.

Because Commence CRM is cloud based, data can be accessed from any device including a PC, Apple Mac, tablet or smartphone. This functionality is highly sought after by companies using traditional desktop CRM or contact management software that cannot offer this.

GM may acquire Ally's Europe, Latin America ... - Automotive News

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Ally Financial Inc. is nearing a deal to sell its auto financing operations in Europe and Latin America for around $4 billion, with General Motors emerging as the lead bidder if the company decides to sell those operations as a whole, two sources familiar with the situation said.

Ally is still considering whether to split the business geographically - Europe and Latin America - and sell it to two different parties, the sources said on Friday. A deal could come as soon as next week, they said.

Details of an agreement have not been finalized, and the outcome could change, the sources said. Ally is still talking to a handful of financial institutions that have made separate bids for its European and Latin American assets, they said.

Ally, which is 74-percent owned by the U.S. government after a series of bailouts during the financial crisis, announced in May a plan to sell its international operations in a bid to speed up repayment to taxpayers.

GM, also partly owned by the U.S. government after its own taxpayer-funded bailout, declined to comment.

An Ally spokeswoman said, "We continue to be focused on maximizing shareholder value and finding the best solutions for the remaining international operations."

Once known as GMAC, Ally is the former auto lending arm of GM, which has been rebuilding its finance operations. The U.S. automaker bought AmeriCredit Corp in 2010 and in August disclosed that it was among the bidders for Ally's international operations.

Ally Chief Executive Michael Carpenter said last week that the lender had interest from multiple parties for its Europe and Latin American operations and that he expected a sale to be announced this month.

Last month, Ally agreed to sell its Canadian auto finance and deposit business to Royal Bank of Canada for $4.1 billion and its Mexican insurance unit to ACE Ltd for $865 million.

Those two sales are expected to bring in about $5 billion in proceeds, producing pretax estimated gains of $1.2 billion, Ally said last week. The European and Latin American operations have a book value of about $3.3 billion.

Ally is focusing on U.S. auto lending and banking in a bid to turn its business around. Its Residential Capital mortgage unit filed for bankruptcy in May, and it is looking to sell most of its remaining mortgage operations.

Of the $17 billion it owes the U.S. government, Ally has paid back $5.8 billion, including dividend payments.

World stocks sink on US fiscal cliff fears

HONG KONG (AP) ? World stock markets struggled Friday despite encouraging Chinese economic figures as fears persisted over the so-called U.S. "fiscal cliff" that's seen as a big threat to the economic recovery.

In early European trading, the FTSE 100 index of leading British companies was nearly flat at 5,779.20 while Germany's DAX was marginally lower at 7,200.92. The CAC-40 in France was down 0.2 percent at 3,402.13.

U.S. stocks were poised to creep higher. Dow futures were up 0.1 percent to 12,786.00 and broader S&P 500 futures were up 0.2 percent to 1,377.50.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell 0.9 percent to close at 8,757.60 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.9 percent to end at 21,384.38. South Korea's Kospi retreated 0.5 percent to 1,904.41.

Australia's S&P ASX 200 dropped 0.5 percent to 4,462.00 after the central bank released a downbeat assessment of the country's economy.

Chinese stocks dipped even as a clutch of reports provided signs of a possible recovery in the world's second-largest economy.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.1 percent to 2,069.07 and the Shenzhen Composite Index edged 0.4 percent lower to 828.46. The benchmarks seesawed between gains and losses throughout the day as investors mulled the data showing factory output rose, investment growth strengthened and inflation eased in October.

Markets have slumped worldwide as investors have refocused on challenges to the world economy following President Barack Obama's re-election. Many worry that gridlock in Washington will prevent the president and Congress from reaching a deal before $800 billion of tax increases and government spending cuts kicks in on Jan. 1.

Investors also have renewed fears about Europe's lingering debt crisis. European Central Bank President Mario Draghi warned that the economy of the 17 nation grouping that uses the euro remains weak and will struggle to grow even with "visibly improved" confidence among the currency union's financial markets.

Asian stocks are "going to be very much driven by the U.S. and Europe," said Peter Esho, chief market analyst at City Index Asia Pacific in Sydney. But "I think things will change in the first quarter of 2013 with a coordinated Chinese response" to the country's painful slowdown, he said.

Australian stocks fell after the country's central bank said in a quarterly report it was trimming growth forecasts as mining companies scale back investment plans because of declining iron ore and coal prices and the strong currency.

In currencies, the euro weakened to $1.2743 from to $1.2750 late Thursday. The dollar was unchanged at 79.38 Japanese yen.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 17 cents to $84.91 in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose 65 cents to close at $85.09 on Thursday.

Big buyers entering the market buoys spirits - Inside Real Estate ...

Scott Corbridge, who manages rental properties through his company ? Sarasota Management & Leasing, sent the following message to the Herald-Tribune about all the big buyers entering the market to gobble up our inventory of unsold homes:

Two gentlemen from a large investment group were recently in our office to discuss their desire to invest in hundreds of single family homes in our area in Florida and put them into the rental market. This is the second firm that has come to us with this objective in the last few months.

That information was recently supported by a Realtor friend of mine who specializes in investment property acquisition. He said that there is currently a high demand in properties, and if a property is reasonably priced, there are often 7-8 offers in the first day, and the cash buyer walks away with the purchase. With big-money cash buyers flooding into the market, can individual investors compete and what does this mean for the rental market?

Foreclosures will Continue to Shape the Market
First of all, owners of current rental properties can expect to see their property values rising at long last. And those who want to buy properties should have plenty of inventory to choose from, regardless of how much investment money is out there. But is this the time to invest in rental properties? While there?s no clear answer, consider these facts:

CoreLogic, a national consumer information firm, reported 91,898 foreclosures in Florida in the past year.
11% of all remaining mortgaged homes in Florida are still in some form of foreclosure.
The ?smart money? is buying: the aforementioned venture capital firm has already raised $350 Million for Florida acquisitions, and plans to peak out at $600M.
There are still 70 million Baby Boomers entering retirement years and many like the idea of living in Florida.
There are still 1.8 million foreclosed homes across the country which have not hit the market, and 636 million current owners are still expected to default in the next few years, according to Stansberry & Associates.
There is an additional but unknown ?shadow inventory? of current owners who would love to unload their properties but are upside down and can?t afford to sell.
?
At Sarasota Management and Leasing, we believe these facts indicate a bounce off the bottom of the real estate market. And with the huge inventory of foreclosed homes, continued buying opportunities will stay with us over the next few years.

Rental demand should remain steady or increase, because at least 30% of the population has historically chosen to rent instead of buy a home. And despite the government?s attempts to get more people into the ownership category (remember the subprime mortgage market disaster), many still have damaged credit, preventing them from owning their own homes.

Los Angeles Galaxy 0-1 San Jose Earthquakes: Late Bernardez free kick stuns defending champs (Goal.com)

Nov 5 (Reuters) - Lee Dong-gook has been recalled for South Korea's home friendly against Australia next week, although was hardly given a ringing endorsement from coach Choi Kang-hee. Choi said he had little choice but to bring back the 33-year-old striker, who was dropped for last month's 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in Iran, in naming his squad on Monday. Lee has returned to form in the K-League since, however, with four goals in his last three matches but Choi said he only recalled him for the Nov. 14 game with the Socceroos after deciding not to select players based in Europe. ...

Everton defender Phil Jagielka hailed goalscorer Marouane Fellaini after their draw at Fulham. Fellaini struck both of Everton's goals in the 2-2 result.

Louis Saha admits he loved his time at Everton.
